24/7 HELPLINES:

These helplines are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week​​​

  • Suicide Crisis Helpline is for anyone who feels suicidal or wants to talk about suicide. It is operated by experienced counsellors.

  • Lifeline is for counselling, support, advice, and information.

  • Healthline has registered nurses who can give advice about health problems.

  • Safe to Talk is for free and confidential information and support from trained counsellors for people affected by sexual harm in any way.

  • Need to Talk is for anyone wanting to talk with a trained counsellor.

    • Phone: 1737 or text 1737

  • Victim Support is for emotional and practical support. They can help refer you to other support services.  They can help advocate for the rights of victims.

The following helplines offer support for specific issues. Some of these services are open 24/7 while others are only open during office hours only.    

  • Depression Helpline provides support, tools, and information about depression and anxiety (talk to a trained counsellor about how you are feeling or to ask any questions).

  • Supporting Families in Mental Illness is for families and whānau supporting a loved one who has a mental illness.

  • OUTline NZ provides confidential telephone support for sexuality or gender identity issues.

  • Rape Crisis is for support after rape or sexual assault.

SUPPORT NETWORKS:

  • NZCAST - We help anyone who is a survivor of state care or faith-based care - both those who are currently in these institutions and those who have left. Reach out via email or join our FB Group.

       Note:  MSD, OT and MOE offer six to twelve sessions of counselling (mirimiri etc) for those who have                 been  emotionally, physically or sexually abused. This is often under utilized due to people not being                 aware of it​.
